After weeks of being down on your luck in the big city, you’ve found your calling: farming! A real estate agency is selling a beautiful farm property down south, and amazingly, you have just enough in your savings to buy it outright! Risking it all, you decide to leave the city tonight in hopes of starting your farming dreams tomorrow!
Except you almost immediately get caught in a bad storm, total your car, and are now stuck in a foreign town with some of the strangest people you’ve ever met. Even worse, the before-thought beautiful farm is in severe disrepair and, according to the townsfolk, was never for sale in the first place! You now find yourself in a seemingly hostile town where one mystery seems to just stack on another…
Only one thing’s for sure: the town is hiding something.
The majority of reviews critizing this highly enjoyable Harvest Moon-esque Early Access game are (1) Completely outdated, (2) Don’t understand the concept of Early Access, and (3) Rate it based on the old price tag of $26.99 USD versus the current modest $15.99 USD. Over the past few months I’ve witnessed tremendous growth in the game thanks to frequent updates (every 2-4 weeks), which have improved upon the User Interface (UI), Controller Functionality, Game Mechanics, Game Content, and eliminated heaps of Crashbugs + Glitches.
I’m going to abstain from going into game specific features (this is well covered in other reviews) and say if you love Harvest Moon and don’t mind the issues that come with Early Access then my only advice is to ignore the negativity and purchase the game. Worst case scenario simply request a refund and wait. To anyone simply waiting for the game to be bundled, you’ll be waiting for a very long time if not forever based on what I’ve read.
The last thing I want to comment on is the Staff at Quickfire Games is extremely easy to reach and even the Director (Sharan) has always responded in under 24 hours with whatever concerns I had about the project. Rant over!
