Pyramid Raid offers a unique mix of platforming and tower defense elements. You take control of a former Egyptian merchant turned mummy and try to survive pyramids built by other players.
You were a sly, wealthy merchant in ancient Egypt and you still want to be one, even though you’ve joined the ranks of the undead.
To do this, you have to raid and amass treasures from other Pyramids. Of course, the Pyramids won’t just simply give their riches to you. You have to overcome all sorts of devious traps and avoid dying to get through the pyramid and steal the treasures.
EVERYONE WINS
Does the other player lose when you succeed in looting his Pyramid? No, he gets a bonus, too!
We want to encourage players to build their own devious, trap-filled Pyramid levels; rather than punish them, we give them some gold for building a level that other players liked. So, depending on the difficulty level and community rating of the pyramid, the builder can get a little or a lot.
The gold you get from raiding other pyramids – or when players raid yours – is spent to upgrade your own pyramid. Every devious combination of traps you can think of – do it. You want a level that is shaped like a bunny? Do it. You want to be known as the guy/gal who built the hardest level ever? Do it.
WARNING: You can’t share your level until you can complete it yourself at least once. Sorry, no impossible levels allowed.
You share your level and other players start playing, rating and hopefully enjoying your level. And if you’re lucky, your level gets selected for the Tournament Mode. Speaking of Tournaments, you couldn’t care less about building and just want to crush other players under the heel of your mummified boot? Tournaments are the way to go. Push yourself to squeeze out even the last seconds and beat the levels with the best time and win some fancy stuff to show off how awesome you are!
In the platforming part, we put a high emphasis on speed and timing. It’s as much about finding the fastest way to clear the level as it is about clearing the level at all. The level building part, however, gives you an easy-to-use editor, one that allows you to create exactly the level you want to create. And if you do a good job and other players enjoy your level, you get even more treasures for it!
